Overview

The field of Journalism and Mass Communication is all about various media forms i.e. newspaper, magazine, radio, television, cinema, advertising, public relations, digital media etc.  Program of BA-JMC provide a strong foundation to the students willing to become future media professionals. The curriculum is a sound combination of theory and practical aspects and is designed with an objective to equip the students with a judicious blend of knowledge, skills and attitude to become media professionals. The program also takes into account all the requirements of the ever-changing media industry.

The Programme of study leading to Bachelor of Arts in Journalism & Mass Communication Degree (BA-JMC) of the FS University (FSU) shall be conducted under the Faculty of Journalism &Mass Communication on full-time. Offered Bachelor degree program has been designed to impart basic and initial knowledge of media. While the master degree and doctorate are planned to be launched in the coming years. Students are trained to become bi-lingual media persons keeping in view of the contemporary industry requirements hence; they are given opportunity to learn in the classroom and writing the examination in Hindi as well as in English.

The minimum eligibility criteria for the admissions to Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication are as follows:

  • The candidate should have passed 12th examination from any recognized board, University or council.
  • A candidate seeking admission in Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication programme must have secured a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in 12th Examination or equivalent.
  • Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC, minimum of 45% marks
